    Sister Love

I was at my sweet friend’s house Darlene’s house for PoKeeno. Darlene has a quirky, lovable sense of humor that is reflected in her design style. On a bathroom break, I found the best piece of art ever! Three  vintage bathing beauties (I think they are sisters) in ancient bathing suits standing in water. I fell in love with this small framed print. I call it Sister Love. I had to have one! After questioning Darlene on where she found this awesome piece, I found out that it was old and finding another would be next to impossible. However, Darlene suggested that I take a picture of the art piece and maybe…

    Small Gold Bench

My good friend Susan called me and asked if I wanted some furniture that her daughter left in her garage after she got married. Of course! One of the pieces was literally “in pieces”.  It was a small bench that had a lot of potential. With a little glue, material, trim and spray paint it became a beautiful small gold bench! The leg was detached and splintered. A little glue, sanding and clamping took care of that! I removed the seat and started removing the material. Summer In The Living Room

Record rainfall in Texas has kept me from working outside. What’s a girl to do? Well, work inside of course. I decided that instead of light therapy, I needed some summer in the living room! One of the easiest ways bring summer in the living room was to change out my pillows. I made these pillows last summer. I still love them, but I was ready for something a little different. So I made these leopard pillow covers. A little plain… I could add this ribbon flower lamp shade magnet for a little interest if I decided they were too plain. I liked them, they made a great neutral, but…

    Getting the Backyard Summer Ready

OK… we finally have had a few days to work in the yard. It is so rewarding getting the backyard summer ready.. you have no idea!  With all of the rain, I was beginning to have my doubts. The first thing I like to clean up – other than the flower beds – is one of my favorite places on earth – the patio. Or as my BFF Rox says ” the party-o”.  I made out great this year, usually I am buying new pillows, replanting all of the pots, and replacing anything that is totally worn out. Due to our unusually mild winter everything was in pretty good shape.…

    Before and After….

I couldn’t wait to show you my before and after pictures of my latest find. My good friends Laura and Nichola work for a school that was having a garage sale.  They gave me a call and said “Can you use these and do you want them?”     Oh, yeah…. and there were a pair of them!  Girl Squeal!  At $20.00 each they were a steal.  Not so pretty now, but these girls had great bones.     I took them down to bare bones – being sure to take pictures along the way so that I would know how to put them back together.  I always THINK…
