home decor, Painted furniture A New Table In The Kitchen April 23, 2019 I’m so happy to tell you that we have a new table in the kitchen. Well, it might be better to say that we have a new / old table . If you follow along you know that I made our old kitchen table into a coffee table. If you missed it, you can see that transformation here. Which left me searching for a new table for the kitchen. A few months ago I purchased this table from a friend for a client. Unfortunately, the table wouldn’t fit the space in my clients room. So the table sat in my garage until I could figure out what to do with it, much to The Hubs dismay! When I started looking for a new one, this table immediately came to mind. I loved the details of the table, it’s shape and the fact that it could be a small round table to seat 4 or could be expanded multiple times to seat up to 8 or 10 people. After a thorough cleaning, it was time to paint. I honestly thought about painting it a bright happy color, but that would have meant changing up the kitchen. Not willing to do that! So, I went back to my old standard, Annie Sloan’s Graphite with a dark wax. I applied two coats, then a coat of dark wax to seal it. So how did it turn out? I think it turned out fabulous! I even love the oval shape, which kind of surprised me! The smaller, round shape was a few inches smaller in diameter than our old one and it felt too tiny. This feels just about perfect! I honestly couldn’t be happier with our new table in the kitchen and The Hubs is happy to have it out of the garage too! If you love it, be sure to Pin it! And this is fantastic. We almost have the same table but your chairs are way cuter than mine! Great job. Tammy April 25, 2019 at 6:04 pm Reply Thanks Cindy. I have to admit I do love black and white… maybe a little too much some times. It’s my go to for sure. Shirley April 24, 2019 at 12:01 am Reply I love , love ❤️ the black and white theme of your kitchen. Black and white can look sophiscated and comfortable at the same time. The table is perfection. Tammy April 25, 2019 at 6:05 pm Reply Thank you Shirley! You made my day…. Sue Gilmore April 24, 2019 at 1:01 am Reply I purchased this same table w/ 2 leaves and 4 chairs about a year ago from a consignment shop for the new home I was building. Left the original yellow finish on the table–(looked pretty in my sun room!)– but recently painted the base in a charcoal finish and paired the table with some highback wicker chairs from Pier One. Loved how the little yellow rattan seat chairs filled in for more guests last Sunday for Easter dinner! Always on the hunt– try to buy used/ vintage/ antique furniture–more unique, more quality than new furniture available these days. Tammy April 25, 2019 at 6:02 pm Reply Sue I loved the color too, it just didn’t go with the kitchen. 🙁 Ours has the two leaves also – which I’m excited about since we have a huge family! Great idea about adding the Pier one chairs. Unfortunately, for me, my client decided to keep the chairs. I loved the ratan and how fun they were. So I’m on the hunt for some new chairs as the ones we have are starting to show their age and not in a good way! Stacey April 24, 2019 at 1:48 am Reply Great find! Love the graphite color in your pretty, bright kitchen. Tammy April 25, 2019 at 6:06 pm Reply Thanks Stacey… the graphite has slowly found it’s way into other rooms of our house too. Definitely a favorite around here. Benita April 24, 2019 at 12:49 pm Reply Tammy, I love this! It turned out gorgeous!! Everything looks beautiful in your dining area! Hugs! Tammy April 25, 2019 at 6:07 pm Reply Thanks Benita!!! That’s a super compliment coming from you. Hope you have a great week my friend!
